Service information

List name

The list name must be unique in our system. Your first pick may not be available. Your chances are better if you don't pick something generic like 'admin' as your list name.

List domain

If you want to use your own domain for the list, enter it here. The list address will then be [listname]@[yourdomain].

NOTE: The DNS MX record must point to custmx.panix.com in order to have a list address in your domain. If you already have non-Panix mail service in the domain, this change would break your mail. The solution is to use a subdomain, such as lists.[yourdomain]. This way you can have a separate MX record for your lists and your regular email.

If you do not have or wish to use your own domain then the address will be [listname]@mailman.panix.com.

Initial list administrator address

The List Administrator Address is the address to which various list administration notices and requests are sent. You will be able to change or add additional addresses for this role in the list's web interface.
